The National Cancer Institute's Basic Biobehavioral Research Branch and the Cancer Immunology and Hematology Branch welcome you to the Web site for the upcoming cancer control and immunology meeting "Exploring the Integration of Psychoneuroimmunology and Tumor Immunology in Cancer Control Research". The meeting will be held on April 15-16, 2004, in Bethesda, MD, at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda Hotel.

We are honored to have convened such a distinguished panel of scientists to share their expertise and begin a dialogue about ways to collaboratively advance biobehavioral research in cancer prevention and control. The impetus for bringing together leading researchers in psychoneuroimmunology and tumor immunology is the Biological Mechanisms of Psychosocial Effects on Disease (BiMPED) initiative sponsored by the Basic Biobehavioral Research Branch (www.cancercontrol.cancer.gov/bimped). The BiMPED initiative seeks to promote an integrated biobehavioral research program in cancer control.

The Basic Biobehavioral Research Branch is delighted to collaborate with the Cancer Immunology and Hematology Branch as we explore the complex interrelationships between psychosocial, behavioral, and immunological processes associated with cancer etiology, morbidity, progression, and mortality. We look forward to a stimulating and productive meeting. See you in April.
