The National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Basic and Biobehavioral Research Branch (BBRB), will be hosting "Incorporating Innovative Social Psychological Theory in Cancer Control Research".
The meeting's goal is to gain a better understanding of new theories in social psychology that might further inform behavioral research along the cancer continuum.
This small think tank-oriented meeting will be chaired by Dr. William Klein of the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. James Shepperd of the University of Florida. A distinguished group of social psychologists and cancer control scientists aim to work with the BBRB in identifying new theoretical perspectives in social behavior that might have implications for health behavior relevant to cancer control and prevention.
This meeting is part of a larger effort to encourage theory testing, building, and development within the behavioral science domain.
