Obesity and Cancer
NCI has an ambitious goal to reduce cancer incidence and suffering by 2026. Physical activity promotion in pediatric populations could be an effective strategy for life course disease prevention, either by primary prevention of cancer or by improving outcomes for cancer survivors. However, the journey from etiologic discovery to evidence-based behavioral intervention dissemination and implementation is long and uncertain.
The purpose of this webinar was to describe pediatric physical activity research across the translational research continuum, and to discuss opportunities for accelerating the application of pediatric physical activity knowledge from bench to bedside to communities.
This webinar is part of the NCI Obesity & Cancer Webinar Series, which aims to foster cross-disciplinary research on obesity that can help prevent, treat, and/or control cancer.
