Kara P. Wiseman, M.P.H., Ph.D., was a Cancer Prevention Fellow in the Tobacco Control Research Branch, in the Behavioral Research Program, within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Wiseman's research interests include behavioral epidemiology with a focus on the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral interventions for cancer prevention. An additional area of interest is cancer survivorship research focused on the health behaviors of cancer survivors occurring after cancer treatment.

Dr. Wiseman received her doctorate in Epidemiology and MPH from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also holds a BA in Biology from the University of Virginia. Her dissertation research examined post-treatment care patterns among breast cancer survivors and factors associated with colorectal cancer screening decisional conflict, as well as the association between decisional conflict and colonoscopy adherence.
