Are Learning Collaboratives Effective in Implementing Interventions for Obesity and Tobacco Dependence to Reduce Early Mortality in People with Mental Illness?

This presentation describes health promotion interventions for obesity and tobacco dependence in persons with mental illness including use of health coaches, mHealth, and social media. Results of a statewide learning collaborative are discussed, followed by a multi-state randomized trial comparing learning collaboratives to targeted technical assistance in the implementation of an evidence-based health promotion program with respect to organizational, provider, and patient-level outcomes.
