All things seem possible in May! We are pleased to announce that Carolyn Reyes-Guzman will join Tram Kim Lam to serve as co-chairs for the DCCPS International and Global Health Interest Group and co-editors of the associated newsletter. More than ever, DCCPS continues to play a critical role in addressing the cancer burden domestically and internationally and has elevated the importance of global research capacity, evidence-based practices, and partnerships to advance cancer control global efforts. The goal of the DCCPS International and Global Health Activities newsletter is to provide updates, highlights, and accomplishments of the DCCPS staff involved in global cancer activities at NCI and NIH. Our partnership with the NCI Center for Global Health and collaborations with other organizations on global health initiatives exemplify the collective mission to provide funding opportunities and accelerate progress in cancer control and population science research. We look forward to your participation to the DCCPS International Interest Group meetings and contribution to this newsletter.

Publishing Case Studies in Global Implementation Science

Lessons from the field: case studies in global implementation science

Gila Neta is co-editor for a collection of case studies documenting examples of rigorous implementation research in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This collection, published in Implementation Science Communications, was developed by Fogarty’s Center for Global Health Studies (CGHS), in collaboration with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The research articles provide practical examples of how to select, adapt, and apply implementation science models, theories, or frameworks to global settings, develop and test implementation strategies, and evaluate implementation processes and outcomes.
