The National Cancer Institute (NCI) will host the first annual TRACE meeting on September 11-12, 2023, in Rockville, MD.
This in person meeting is an opportunity for principal investigators, core leaders, program managers, and early-stage investigators across each of the funded centers to discuss emerging research, policy, and technology issues in telehealth and cancer-related care.

Participants will be responsible for purchasing their own food and drinks. Options for ordering lunch from local restaurants for individual food purchase and delivery will be made available at the conference.
Travel and Transportation
By train
From Philadelphia or New York City take the train to DC Union Station. Estimated time is 2-3.5 hours from Philadelphia and New York City, respectfully.
There are many transportation options to get to NCI Shady Grove.
Car, Lyft, Uber or Taxi: Drive time is estimated at 50 minutes (40 miles) to NCI Shady Grove, depending on traffic.
Metrorail: Metrorail service is available from DC Union Station. To get to NCI Shady Grove, take the Washington, DC Metro Red line from Union Station. Get off at the last stop Shady Grove (terminal station). Exit on the "Kiss & Ride" side and look for signs for the NCI Shady Grove Shuttle. The NCI Shady Grove Metro Shuttle begins at 6:00 a.m. on the west side of the Shady Grove metro station. View the metro shuttle schedule.
By air travel
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA):
There are many transportation options to get to NCI Shady Grove.
Car, Lyft, Uber or Taxi: Drive time is estimated at 40 minutes (25 miles) to NCI Shady Grove, depending on traffic.
Metrorail: Metrorail service is available from DCA airport. To get to NCI Shady Grove, take the Washington, DC Metro from the airport to the Shady Grove Metro station. Transfer from the Blue Line at Metro Center or the Yellow Line at Gallery Place to the Red Line towards Shady Grove. Metrorail hours of service vary by day. Exit on the "Kiss & Ride" side and look for signs for the NCI Shady Grove Shuttle. The NCI Shady Grove Metro Shuttle begins at 6:00 a.m. on the west side of the Shady Grove metro station. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD):
There are many transportation options to get to NCI Shady Grove.
Car, Lyft, Uber or Taxi: Drive time is estimated at 60 minutes (40 miles) to NCI Shady Grove, depending on traffic.
Metrorail: Metrorail service is available from IAD airport. To get to NCI Shady Grove, take the Washington, DC Metro Silver line to Metro Center stop, and transfer to the Red Line to the Shady Grove stop (terminal station). Exit on the "Kiss & Ride" side and look for signs for the NCI Shady Grove Shuttle. The NCI Shady Grove Metro Shuttle begins at 6:00 a.m. on the west side of the Shady Grove metro station. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI):
There are many transportation options to get to NCI Shady Grove.
Car, Lyft, Uber or Taxi: Drive time is estimated at 50 minutes (40 miles) to NCI Shady Grove, depending on traffic.
MTA Route 201 Bus: Travel time is estimated at 80 minutes. Coach bus from BWI to Shady Grove Metro station. At BWI the bus stops near Concourses A (Southwest Airlines) and E (International terminal). See daily time timetables as hours of service vary by day.
NCI Visitor Parking
Visitors to NCI Shady Grove should park in the NCI Shady Grove garage, which is directly across from the campus building. Visitor parking tickets can be validated at the guard station in the lobby after a visitor has signed in. Health and Safety
The following protocols have been established to ensure that staff and participants remain as COVID-safe as possible during an in-person meeting. Please continue to check back as information will be updated based on state and local COVID mandates. If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms such as, but not limited to fever or chills, cough, body aches, or loss of taste or smell, please do not enter/attend this meeting.
NCI and TRACE strongly encourage all participants to be fully vaccinated, which is defined as individuals who have received all required doses of an FDA- or WHO-authorized two-dose (i.e., Pfizer or Moderna) or one-dose vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson).
We are following policies, which request that all attendees wear masks in indoor public spaces unless eating, drinking, or presenting. We require attendees to always have their registration badge visible during the meeting. (Subject to change).
