About SUMMIT

The Scaling-up and Maintaining Evidence-based Interventions to Maximize Impact on Cancer (SUMMIT) initiative fosters cross-project learning and shared approaches to advancing the science of scale-up and sustainment by:

Using rigorous randomized controlled trial designs to test strategies to scale-up and sustain lung cancer screening for those at high risk for lung cancer (three research projects) and increasing delivery of tobacco use treatment services for cancer survivors (one research project);
measuring sustainment of intervention delivery for at least 12-months post-implementation;
using common measures to support cross-trial hypothesis testing and analyses;
engaging in cross-project thematic workgroups; and
developing and sharing tools and resources for how to effectively scale-up and sustain evidence-based cancer control interventions.
