OCS Director’s Series
In this NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) Director’s Series webinar on March 21, 2023, Dr. Stacy Loeb presented Cancer Information Online: Misinformation and Other Pitfalls for Cancer Survivors. Dr. Loeb shared research on the widespread nature of misinformation in social media, including problems with understandability and actionability. Her presentation also noted the promise of social media in cancer for healthcare providers and scientists, as well as for cancer survivors and their loved ones.
The intended audience was researchers, advocates, policy makers, and healthcare professionals working with cancer survivors, in addition to cancer survivors and their caregivers.
