In this NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) Director’s Series webinar on May 2, 2023, OCS Director Dr. Emily Tonorezos and Dr. Terri Armstrong of NCI’s Neuro-Oncology Branch presented Opportunities to Advance the Science of Survivorship in Neuro-Oncology, and Kimberly Wallgren shared her insights and experiences as a cancer caregiver. Dr. Tonorezos and Dr. Armstrong provided an overview of currently funded projects in neuro-oncology survivorship, how our understanding of tumors and the cancer experience has changed over the years, and gaps and challenges in this area of research. The presenters also focused on the impact of cancer treatment on neuro-oncology cancer survivors and caregivers, and discussed ongoing work to improve symptom management.

The intended audience was researchers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals with interest in neuro-oncology or cancer survivorship.
