OCS Director’s Series

In this NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) Director’s Series webinar on October 17, 2023, Dr. Angela E. Usher of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and Dr. Brenda Adjei of NCI’s Center for Cancer Research presented Understanding and Addressing Housing Instability for Cancer Survivors. The speakers shed light on the many challenges of housing instability among cancer survivors. Faced with the high cost of medical care, cancer survivors, in turn, also experience a greater burden of housing instability. Dr. Usher’s and Dr. Adjei’s presentation addressed research and implementation gaps in this area and highlighted a framework to enable healthcare systems to better integrate social care into healthcare delivery.

The intended audience was researchers, advocates, policymakers, and health care professionals with an interest in housing instability, social risks, health care delivery, or cancer survivorship.
