Crossing the Finish Line of Grant Submission: R’s from the perspectives of the PI’s
Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2019
Category: Priority Topic
On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, from 3:00 - 4:00pm ET, Dr. David Chambers will be joined by Drs. Lee, Ramaswamy, and Skolarus, all of whom have shared their work with our research community within the DCCPS Sample Grant repository. Their contributions cover a wide swath of research, representing R01s, R21s, dissemination, implementation, and deimplementation, and they will speak to their grantee experience and challenges and insights about the process.
Their grant applications are:
- Lee: R21: Effective Training Models for Implementing Health-Promoting Practices Afterschool
- Ramaswamy, R01: Sexual Health Empowerment for Cervical Health Literacy and Cancer Prevention
- Skolarus, R01: De-implementation of low value castration for men with prostate cancer
These resources drive 15% of all website traffic to the Implementation Science Team website, 20% of total visitors enter and exit off the specific resource page, and 1/3 of all search terms that direct to our website reference examples of successful grants. These speakers’ applications are among the seventeen sample grants split between Implementation Science and the Behavioral Research Program. The session will include initial comments from our speakers, sharing their perspectives in a facilitated discussion, and we will then open it up for questions from participants.
