Telehealth and Cancer: Studying Its Role in Cancer Control and Care Delivery
Technological advances, coupled with changes in healthcare needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have led to a substantial increase in the use of telehealth in the delivery of cancer-related care. While its use has been critical, a strong evidence base is needed to determine best practices and under what situations telehealth approaches can most effectively be used and equitably accessed in oncology care.
This is the inaugural webinar of the 2022 DCCPS webinar series, Telehealth and Cancer: Studying Its Role in Cancer Control and Care Delivery, organized by the Behavioral Research Program and Healthcare Delivery Research Program.
In this webinar, staff in the Healthcare Delivery Research Program
- provided an overview of the webinar series and summarize NCI’s efforts to advance research on telehealth and delivery of cancer care,
- reviewed the results of an analysis of NCI’s current portfolio of research focused on telehealth and cancer care, and
- presented the results of a scoping review of published randomized trials testing the feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of telehealth delivery of cancer-related care.
