Centering Equity in Cancer Research Series
This quarterly webinar series, Centering Equity in Cancer Research, is hosted by the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences. The series is designed to highlight health equity research including innovative measures and methodologies, resiliency approaches, and solutions for overcoming obstacles to health.
Invited speakers will discuss the current state of the science, innovative measures and methodologies, gaps in current scientific knowledge, and challenges and opportunities to advance the science and health equity.
Presentation topics may address the following:
- Structural, institutional, environmental, economic, and social determinants of health disparities and associated mechanisms
- Community and population assets, resilience approaches, and solutions for overcoming obstacles to health disparities
- The lived experiences and cultural identities of populations who have been historically marginalized
- Transdisciplinary and innovative approaches that incorporate a health equity lens or conduct health equity research
