Centering Equity in Cancer Research
Trust in health care is critical for optimal cancer care and outcomes, yet current efforts to measure and improve trust and trustworthiness in health care often focus on patients rather than improving the health care system. In this webinar, two invited experts presented on the constructs of trust and trustworthiness in the context of cancer care. Dr. Andrew Anderson presented key definitions and conceptual frameworks on trust and related constructs and offered guidance on how best to measure these constructs. Dr. Jennifer Richmond presented on how trust affects health care use and cancer outcomes and provided recommendations for building trust and institutional trustworthiness to advance health equity.
This webinar is part of the quarterly series, Centering Equity in Cancer Research, hosted by the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences. The series is designed to highlight health equity research including innovative measures and methodologies, resiliency approaches, and solutions for overcoming obstacles to health.
